Hi, Sorry it's taken a while, I haven't had much access to the internet recently and besides I'm always out in the car. Firstly I would like to give a massive thank you to Bill Marriott, the Instructor that I had. This guy is amazing and I would recommend him to anybody. From the very first time I sat in the car on my first lesson I felt comfortable and didn't feel nervous at all. Indeed throughout my lessons he built my confidence up high and did his best to keep it there no matter what stupid mistakes I ended up doing, (stalling in front of everybody at traffic lights ! or roundabouts, oops, embarrassing moments).

He is a kind, friendly professional, supportive and patient guy who you can have a laugh with and whose great tuition skills made me pass first time !

I chose ABC because of recommendation and I heard of their brilliant reputation. I guess I could have gone to a slightly cheaper driving school, what for ? £1 cheaper an hour and the chance of being messed around as I have heard so many stories of ? Well what can I say, at 66 years old I decided to learn to drive and try and pass my test by my 70th Birthday!

To any learner drivers out there, I say this;

I take my hat off to you. Although the actual test is short and sweet, the build up can knock your nerves and confidence for six, but if you believe in your Instructor you will be fine!

They have been preparing drivers for their test a lot longer than you have been a learner driver, so listen to them!!!!!! If they say you can pass then you can !

If your Instructor say's take the handbrake of properly, listen!

I really want to thank you for your hard work and patience in getting me to pass my driving test in 15 hours. I wish I had gone to ABC earlier as you really taught me well and have outstanding techniques. Unlike most Instructors you just get on and dont waste any time at all.

I also want to encourage anyone who is looking at the website and wondering whether or not to give ABC a call as I really would recommend them to contact you. I had previously gone with two other Instructors in the area and both of them were really wasting my time and money. When I gave Nigel a call he was very professional and very fair in his prices and his teaching was great. He was so patient as sometimes I would forget what he told me, also he was so calm and and had a great sense of humour and simply made a joke out of my mistakes which other Instructors did not. which made me feel much better.

I never thought I would pass 1st time, but Nigel had the confidence in me that I would and I sure did. ABC have the best techniques to pass your test, which I can verify as other Instructors in this area do not. Before I contacted ABC I was really struggling with bay parking and once the ABC method eas explained within 5 minutes I was able to complete the manoevre by myself.

I started my course on a Monday morning and passed my test on the Wednesday afternoon. It was worth every penny and once again thank you very much as it is great to have this freedom.

PS I forgot to mention I nearly ran over a rabbit on my Test

I would like to thank ABC for helping me to pass my driving test at the first time. Having just finished University I am now on the look out for work, for which driving is probably going to be essential. As I had about 20hrs of tuition under my belt from a couple of years ago I thought that an intensive driving course might be the best option for me.

The idea of combining this with a week away in a beautiful part of the UK also appealed to me. After searching online I came across ABC and sent them an e.mail to enquire about what they could offer me. Nigel responded to me almost immediately with details on what might be the best course for me. A couple of e.mails later and my 30 hour course over 5 day's was booked with the Practical test at the end.

After my first day of intensive driving I did wonder what I had let myself in for and if I had made the right decision. Fortunately I stuck with it and made very good progress over the next few day's under some fantastic tuition from Bill Marriott. By the time my test came around at the end of the week I felt very confident in my driving and that I should have no problems in passing my test.....which I did.

In the end I was almost slightly disapointed that my test didn't go as well as it could have, picking up 8 minor faults, but the fact that I did pass 1st time made the whole course worthwhile and my 4 hour train journey home a lot more enjoyable.

I would recommend this driving school to anyone who is thinking about taking an intensive driving course, especially those who have some previous driving experience. As long as you take on board what the Instructor is telling you , (after all they are the experts). I believe anybody stands a very good chance of passing their test with this driving school.

Driving has always seemed to be something other people do, and having taken and failed my test 3 times between my 17th and 20th birthday I'd given up. Approaching my 30th Birthday I re-started lesson's on a weekly basis with one of the major driving schools, 16 hours in the car later, spread over 2 months I realised I was wasting my money, and quit... again. All I was learning was how to sit in traffic jams round Ealing Broadway.

So, I rang ABC, booked my week with very little faith that I could do it, and boy am I a bad learner. But one of Nigel's strengths seems to be coping with the overly emotional approach of stroppy female learner drivers, and very very patiently guided me, pointed out my errors in a firm, but calm fashion and over 4 days gave me the confidence I needed to try for that elusive licence once again. And against all odds, the DSA's determined efforts to cancel my test, other drivers in Llandudno's fascination with removing my wing mirrors and an unseasonably hot weekend in Wales I was prepared for my test. 

As I approached the final bend in the road before Bangor test centre the driving examiner asked me whether I had a car, and the slow realisation dawned that that would be a really mean thing to ask if he was about to fail me. 4 minors, 2 of which I wouldn't have got if I'd remembered Nigel's precise instructions, and a blue pass certificate was mine.

So Nigel, I guess that that is an example of good driving, and I hope that I'll remember all your careful lessons for the remainder of my driving career.

Aged 45, with memories of my elderly father forcing me to take the wheel of our ancient Hillman Imp after school every day when I was 17, I felt it was time to bite the bullet and learn to drive the Intensive Way.

Nigel would pick me up from Llandudno Junction each morning in the automatic, and between us I ended the week with a 1st-time pass. It was the most gruelling 5 days, with many highs and lows, but much to be grateful for. Nigel's attitude towards me was calm and tough at the same time. I had given him reason, on the first day's driving, to have faith in my potential skills, and he worked hard through the massive dips in my confidence to pull me up to the standard he obviously felt I could achieve.

There were moments after a solid day's driving when I was close to giving up; my poor husband saw the emotional strain it put on me each evening, as I kept a cool and reasoned head on my shoulders during the day in order to learn as much as possible
in this saturated way.

From Monday to Wednesday, I felt that everything I was doing was having to be forced from my brain, but - as Nigel had kept promising me - by Thursday, instinctive driving skills began suddenly to kick in, and I found automatically that I could read the road more naturally. This gave me a huge boost in confidence, so that by Friday's Test Day I felt ready to do my best. A previous lack of belief in myself and my ability to conquer this problem has finally been put to rest. Nigel obviously trusted that I had the abilities and skills to do the job, and it must have been a frustrating mid-week for him to find that I was not stepping up to the mark as well as I could have done.

I am very grateful to Nigel for the way in which he taught me, although there were times when it would have been easy to blame him for being incredibly pressurising and exacting at times when I felt very vulnerable and failing to learn at the right pace.

Friday 13th was never a problem before, but I shall now remember it with relief and pride, and that I was extremely happy to conclude a punishing week with a great result. Thank you to Nigel for his belief in his pupil, and for his undoubted tuition skills.

Yes am very pleased with myself and thank you for your expert tuition. Would highly reccommend anyone of any age to learn to drive this way, I have taken some lessons in the past but tended to stop doing them for various reasons i.e. children, work,etc. I decided to go on the resedential course at the ABC school in llandudno after the new year and decided it was now or never.

I was picked up from the train station by Nigel my instructor on the Monday and got to drive for most of the day. After being dropped at my hotel (which was also an excellent choice at it was very well run and in a lovely location), I settled in and looked forward to the week ahead. The first two days was spent getting used to driving again in general and we practiced some manoevres. Bare in mind this was the 1st week in January when we had that terrible snow, but by the wednesday my instructor had made me confident enough to take on the A55 and drive to Bangor where I became familiar with the driving test route.

By the friday which was when I was scheduled to do my test I was very confident and felt I was in a good frame of mind to pass my test, unfortunately the road to the test centre was iced over and all tests for that day were cancelled. Although I was disappointed, Nigel booked me straight in for my test again which took place a week or two later. Again my instructor picked me up from the station and I had a few hour practice before my test.

I am pleased to say I passed my test with only 3 minor faults and was ecstatic. This was my first driving test at 45 years of age. I would encourage people of any age to book themselves on this course as I could really not fault the whole experience.

If you're looking for quality instructors, learning in a great vehicle and staying in a lovely B&B whilst passing your test then I'd recommend ABC wholeheartedly.

My time with ABC was fantastic, PASSED FIRST TIME :D after 3 years of learning and finally did it and again without Nigel I couldn't of done it.

I would also like to thank Mark Rock for being a great tutor, even though I did do a wheel spin the first ever lesson..

I started off in a Manual couldn't get the hang of it.. so lost all my confidence and stopped driving for 2 years, then had the courage in summer this year to phone ABC and take Automatic and my god the best thing I ever did!

i just want to say a massive thank you to YOU and PAUL... thanks Nigel for fitting me in for a crash course within 2weeks and giving me paul as my instructor he is the most chilled driving instructor i have had i have been trying to pass my test 4 3 years ... i did a 25 hour crash course with paul and i passed my test 1st time 1 fault !!! i could not THANK him enough !! he gave me confidence and kept me chilled !!! i highly recommend paul for any one to lear to drive with .... im now driving with confidence because of him !!!! As I was approaching the milestone of my 40th birthday I decided it was time to learn to drive! I was taught mainly by Nigel and partly by Mark. Both were exceptionally patient, thorough in their teaching methods and very friendly. I travelled from West Yorkshire to be taught by ABC Driving School in the fantastic surroundings of North Wales. I would thoroughly recommend this way of learning whilst getting away from it all to help concentrate but also to relax. Thank you for helping me achieve a pass with just 3 minor faults! And thank you for taking me to the best coffee shops in North Wales!

Being a social work student, it was really important for me to pass my driving test. After failing my test four times before, I decided to give ABC a try.

Both my brothers had passed their driving test with ABC, so it seemed like the obvious choice to make. I found the instructor explained things clearly, and really understood my learning style and needs. I was supported to build up my confidence, at a pace that suited me. This was really important to me because after failing so many times before, my confidence had been knocked and I was a nervous driver.

My instructor was honest about when I would be ready for my test. I was set realistic goals and built up my skills to make me a safe driver. 

Test day soon arrived and I'm pleased to say, I passed with ABC. Now I wonder how I managed without driving before! I have gained valuable skills for life.
